I’m sitting here with a strong desire to write something profound, something monumental, something quotable about the holiday season. In my head are a multitude of sound bites, teasing tidbits of wit that have no greater depth, no further meaning to support two to three pages of meaningless overly descriptive words to back them up. When I started writing these little morsels of awesomeness for all of you to read it was mostly for fun, it was a way for me to get something off my chest while at the same time bringing a smile to your faces, but as I continued, in the back of my mind, in the way back, stuffed under some old finger paintings I’d done in the first grade and hidden behind all the advanced algebra my 11^th grade math teacher swore I would use but haven’t touched since (thank you very much), in the back of my mind I always imagined that I would sort of, accidentally on purpose stumble onto something so witty and profound that it would catapult me out of obscurity and into the history books along other notable satirist such as Jonathan Swift, Joseph Heller, or George Orwell. I was always under the impression that somewhere buried within my flowery prose and under punctuated ramblings lay the seeds of unintentional genius but alas, I’ve yet to write my Modest Proposal, I’ve yet to pound out my 1984, or my Catch 22.

All kidding aside, you may not realize that the only reason that I write is for you guys, for all of you.  Writing is something that I can't stop.  When I get something in my head, I can't do anything else until I've gotten it down on paper.  (Case in point the entirity of Three Heartbeats.  I started writing that before the episode was even over because I couldn't not write it.)  And most likely even if I knew that no one in the world would ever see it, I would probably keep writing (the proof of that are in the completely self indulgent plethora of half finished fics on my computer for many, many, other fandoms that will never see the light of day).  That being said, if I hadn't gotten such wonderful feedback from everyone when I posted my first story, "The Last Job You'll Ever Have", I never would have posted, "It's Never Too Late To Start Over" and it just keeps going.  You guys are the reason why I'm busting my but to get out the next chapter of "Just Married" (sometime next week fingers crossed because somehow I've managed to delete half the chapter).

So basically I was nominated because you guys are awesome, if I win, you guys will be even more awesome, but even if I don't, you guys are still awesome and I want you to know that.  I don't have time to reply to all the comments and feedback but I want you to know I read them all, generally more than once and all of them bring a smile to my face.
